These issues can be caused by your video card outputting an excess of 60 frames per second, having mods, or your computer's video card drivers being out of date which can result in the game moving too fast or too slow.
Setting your Refresh Rate
With the High FPS Physics Fix, the game not runs at the correct speed at high framerates. The mod also fixes a couple of other issues, like. Another green mod - dlc version clean water of the Commonwealth No build limit - all dlcs STS - scrap that settlement Another life - alternative start Full Dialogue interface Amazing follower tweaks Boston fps fix AIO Fallout 4 FPS overdrive Xbox one Foolhardy - seanzoz loading screen.
These types of issues can also occur if the game/launcher incorrectly detects monitors that are set to refresh rates above 120Hz as being set to 120Hz.
In general, you are advised to keep the game's default settings and continue to play the game with a 60fps cap. The fps cap that the game uses is determined by the your monitor refresh rate (typically 60Hz or 120Hz), and dividing it by the 'iPresentInterval' value.
Please note that if your monitor is set to 60Hz, the iPresentInterval value in your .INI file should be '1', and if your monitor is set to 120Hz, the iPresentInterval value should be '2'. Setting it to '0' uncaps the framerate and can cause the issues mentioned above. If your monitor is set to a value larger than 120Hz (such as 144Hz), we advise you to set your desktop refresh rate to 120Hz instead, when playing the game.
Roblox allows players to buy, sell, and create virtual items. Only Roblox administrators can sell accessories, body parts, gear, and packages under the official Roblox user account. Clothes can be bought by anyone but only players with a Builders Club membership can sell them.
Here are the steps for changing your refresh rate.
- Right click on your Desktop.
- Click on Display Settings.
- Click on Display Adapter properties.
- On the Monitor tab, go to the Refresh Rate field.
- Select 60 Hz from the drop down list.
- Click Apply. You will be prompted to 'Keep Changes' or 'Revert.' Select 'Keep Changes.'
- Select OK
Remove Mods:
Custom mods can in some cases cause in-game performance issues. We recommend disabling or removing any installed mods and trying again.
If you are not able to launch the game, take your system offline and remove the mod from your load order
To delete a mod, open Fallout 4 and select Mods from the main menu. From there, find the mod you wish to delete in your Library, select it, and use the Delete option.
Update Graphics Card Drivers
If your machine meets the game's requirements, we recommend you also ensure that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card installed. You can find drivers for supported video cards here:
NVIDIA - http://www.geforce.com/drivers
AMD - https://www.amd.com/en/support
Note: We recommend you manually download the latest drivers from the above sites and ensure your previous drivers are fully deleted before updating.

Additional Troubleshooting
In addition, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve issues related to crashes:
- If you have edited your game's .INI file, restore it to its default state. Many issues can be traced to modification of the game's .INI file.
- Delete your game's .INI files by navigating to C:Users<username>Documentsmy gamesFallout4 (default location) and removing the following files to reset all game settings:
- Fallout4.ini
- Fallout4Custom.ini
- Fallout4Prefs.ini
- Change your display mode to run in Borderless Windowed Mode.
- To do so from the Fallout 4 launcher, click Options, then check the Windowed Mode and Borderless checkboxes at the bottom.
After the lackluster release of Fallout 76, a lot of gamers are returning to Fallout 4. However, and as we’ve already reported, the game is by default locked at 60fps. Thankfully, there is now a mod that can unlock its framerate. Furthermore, it fixes all of the physics issues that occurred when unlocking the framerate.
As we wrote in our PC Performance Analysis.
“Apart from some really weird physics bugs that occurred, we had major syncing issues during dialogues when we unlocked the framerate. Lock picking also became really sensitive and ultra fast, and there was a bug/glitch after using terminals.”
In short, and while there was a way to unlock the framerate at launch, it was not optimal. The game had major physics and syncing issues. However, and almost five years after its release, PC gamers can now enjoy the game at higher framerates.
According to its creator, this mod unlock the FPS and unties the game speed from framerate, allowing you to play with high FPS at normal speed. It also dynamically changes the value of fMaxTime, fMaxTimeComplex and fMaxFrameCounterDifferenceToConsiderVisible. As the modder noted, this will allow you to have an unlocked framerate without physics bugs.
Additionally, this mod offers the ability to turn off vertical sync on loading screens to speed up game loading. The effect is especially noticeable if game is on SSD. It also fixes rotation speed of items and corpses and rotation speed in build mode. Not only that, but it fixes a problem of getting stuck when you access to the terminal and power armor.
Basically, this mod fixes all of the issues we’ve reported and makes the game work wonderfully at framerates higher than 60fps. As such, we strongly suggest downloading it from here.
Have fun!
